Katie is someone I’ve actually seen several times as she was the pianist for some of the weddings I photographed. It was great to be able to finally meet her not just outside of the ceremony setting but also as a bride who I would be able to work with. Since the engagement session was planned for mid-fall, it only made sense to photograph it with the fall colored leaves. We went to Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore to spend the day shooting photos while getting to know each other. Young Ho had an unfortunate accident with a bird dropping on his shoulder right before the session began. Katie would complain at times about the smell which caused bursts of laughter throughout the session. I had such a great time with Katie and Young Ho. Looking forward to their wedding this winter!
 

Jeanie and Tim’s engagement session took place in two locations. Meadowlark Botanical Garden and Manassas Battlefield. We began at the garden and strolled along it’s path enjoying the beauty of the trees and flowers and stopping by occasionally for a photograph. Jeanie and Tim looked so picture perfect that so many people would come by just to have a glimpse of them. As the sun started to go down we changed locations to the battlefield where we would take the remaining portraits. Jeanie and Tim made these beautiful geronimo balloons with a long string of tassels that made it appear like a festival kite. We spent the golden hour in the fields with the sun casting its rays of gold upon them. This session could not have been more perfect. Thanks Jeanie and Tim for your hard work today. We cannot wait until your wedding day!
 

Rhiannon and Jonathan both have amazing personalities with a sense of humor that is so well synched. Spending the day with these two was so enjoyable and they really made the day pass by so pleasantly! We stayed within the Ellicott City area shooting on locations in Old Ellicott City and Patapsco Park. Rhiannon prepared some fun props that went well with the location background and color scheme. Some areas in Patapsco Park was a bit difficult to walk through but Jonathan always made sure that his fiance was safe and secure. It was a great session with such a great couple and we are looking forward to their wedding day this upcoming spring!
 

Esther and Victor are a couple that have this chemistry where you can tell they are definitely meant to be together. It could be from them having been together a long time, but their interaction was very refreshing to see. You see a love that has grown to a level of comfort that brings upon a deep friendship as well.
Esther and her family own a store at a place called Sherwood Forest. And yes it’s in reference to Robin Hood as the names of the streets are based from characters of that story! This place is as enchanting as the name it was given. It is a secluded and private neighborhood, so secluded that it has it’s own zip code and post office. The neighborhood even have their own beach and pier, where we decided to have the engagement session. We began the session early in the morning and drove around the neighborhood in golf carts while stopping occasionally to take photos. We were able to watch the sunrise on the pier and enjoy it by the water. It was cold when we first began but the sun later warmed up our bodies and we were able to enjoy the rest of the morning basking under the sunlight. Esther and Victor’s wedding will be held in Sherwood Forest as well and we are delighted to be a part of their day!
